All sales concluded by Nordam Forest Products are done so with responsible committments to competent, experienced sawmills whose products and services have been thoroughly reviewed. After each transaction is completed, the precious materials arrive at our warehouses in the form of rough planks. A new inspection is then completed by our team when each load arrives. Our warehouses are located in Saint-Roch-de-l’Achigan and Bedford.
Often, this wood must be transformed and/or dried before being shipped to clients. When necessary, the drying is completed under strict guidelines to respect the highest industry standards.
To achieve this, Nordam Forest Products has several curing warehouses at its disposal which allows the wood to receive the necessary care and treatment to maximize both quality and future yields. The temperature is rigorously controlled, and the drying time always respected.
Calculating the quantity and classification of the wood is also done carefully and with attention to details all in respect to industry standards. The length, thickness, colors and variations are all verified carefully when the materials arrive.
Our facilities are easily accessible and contain vast inventory including numerous wood species. The wood is stored carefully to ensure its quality and preserve its beautiful allure.
In terms of delivery, Nordam partners with reliable, professional transporters. Each delivery is completed in respect to all related regulations, whether in North America (land transportation) or around the world (maritime transportation).
The loading and transportation of containers to the port is undertaken by a team of professionals who ensure that space is maximized while respecting all regulations concerning land or maritime transportation.
All wood transformation steps may be undertaken by Nordam Forest Products or its clients, depending on their needs. Among the services offered: measuring, classification, planing and edging.
OUR EXPERTISE IN FIVE STEPS
1. HAND-PICKED SUPPLIERS
Nordam Forest Products procures raw materials only from sources offering the highest quality products and having been previously assessed beforehand. Our classification specialists ensure that all quality criteria are respected, and that work is completed with respect to all environmental regulation guidelines.
Over the years, strong bonds of confidence and trust have been created with our suppliers thanks to these rigorous procurement procedures.
2. NOTHING IS LEFT TO CHANCE
From the supplier to our cherished clients, the wood undergoes testing and verifications as per our requirements. Once delivered to one of our warehouses, the wood undergoes yet another strict evaluation which allows us to assess certain elements such as grade, thickness, trimming, the absence (or presence) of spots and variations, color, etc. In short, all the quality aspects that can be verified and are part of our supplier agreements.
Only after these verifications are complete can the materials be submitted for subsequent stages of processing.
3. TRANSFORMATIONS : PRECISION COMES FIRST
Before being shipped to clients, our wood must often be treated and/or dried. Drying is always achieved by following very strict guidelines in the goal of respecting the highest industry standards for these products.
To accomplish this, we are equipped with multiple storage and curing facilities which allow us to treat the wood appropriately in order to maximize quality and yield. Great care is taken to control the temperature and curing times are strictly respected as well.
4. THROUGHOUT THE SUPPLY CHAIN, QUALITY REMAINS
In order to ensure the unaltered quality of the delivered product, our product classification specialists remain alert and perform additional inspections after each stage of curing and lathing.
If requested by clients, sorting and packaging is completed just prior to product shipment. We also offer preselected wood supply, that is to say, we respect a variety of lengths, widths and colors requested when the initial order is placed.
A high-performance point chart is created for each bundle, allowing clients to quickly and easily access all pertinent information such as quantity, color and quality as well as the volume contained in each bundle.
5. SECURE WAREHOUSING, WORRY-FREE DELIVERY
When wood must remain at our facilities for extended periods prior to shipment, it is stored in a secure manner both in terms of physical safety (theft/vandalism) as well as preserving its optimal condition.
Each species is treated with care according to the rules in effect for each type of wood. Among other things, the degree of humidity is adjusted and verified to ensure maximal material quality and stability.
Our vast storage facilities allow rapid access to high-quality wood, regardless of the features sought (species, grade, width, thickness, length, etc.).
At the time of delivery, the most appropriate transportation method is prioritized to respect our faithful clients’ deadlines and requirements.
